Goodbye potholes, goodbye paved roads? Marengo Twp. does not want to go back to gravel

MARENGO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A fight against a county recommendation that would convert three stretches of paved road back to gravel in Marengo Township led to a packed township board meeting Tuesday night.

The Calhoun County Road Department recommended reverting portions of 20 Mile, 21 Mile and 24 Mile roads to gravel, citing deteriorating pavement that is too far gone to economically maintain.
