KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department (KCKPD) confirmed on Friday that partial human remains found earlier this year are the remains of a 67-year-old man reported missing in late 2023.
On April 25, KCKPD detectives responded to the area of North 32nd Street and Sloan Avenue, near Quindaro Cemetery, on reports a man found human remains while walking in a densely wooded area.
Forensic testing confirmed that the remains belong to Wilfred Powell, who was last seen on Dec. 13, 2023, near 7th Street and Washington Boulevard, according to KCKPD. Powell had frequented the area where the remains were discovered…
