Leawood officials rescheduled the city’s fireworks show for Sunday and canceled its scheduled Independence Day activities Saturday because of ongoing storms in the area.
The fireworks show, originally scheduled for Saturday night, will take place Sunday at 9:45 p.m. at Leawood City Park.
“Although weather conditions may improve later this evening, the continued threat of lightning prevents crews from safely setting up the fireworks in time for a full show,” according to a Leawood news release…
