SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) – A Johnson County World Cup watch party planned for Friday, July 10, at Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park has been canceled because of a threat of severe weather around kickoff time.
The Johnson County Park and Recreation District said it consulted professional weather partners and was advised there is a risk of lightning, hail and strong wind gusts. Organizers said they did not have the safety measures needed for lightning or hail.
