KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The gas station at 23rd and Topping flooded for the fifth time four months ago. Since then, the owner says he has lost half of his business.
Khurram Javed, owner of the gas station, said a nearby property owner dug a six-foot drainage trench across the road, which is currently helping drain water away from the station. Javed said the trench is not a permanent solution.
“Latest, this problem been solved. But for time being, it’s not a permanent,” Javed said. “So now water is draining, but it’s not a permanent solution. Because if it’s again filled with the dirt, it’s going to be the same problem.”
