Prosecutors: Two charged in connection with Kansas City deadly drug deal

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office charged two people in connection with a deadly drug deal earlier this month.

Edward Mejia-Santos and Aelilyona Baker are each charged with:

  • Second-degree felony murder
  • Armed criminal action
  • Delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana

Court records show Kansas City police responded to a shooting near 108th Street and Marsh Ave. on April 2. They found a victim, later identified by police as 19-year-old Tylen Bean, suffering from gunshot injuries. Investigators said he died at the scene.
