Summer is coming in hot for East Tennessee, just in time for the Fourth of July. The days leading up to all the holiday parades, fireworks and cookouts could have temperatures near 100 degrees for Knoxville.
Most of East Tennessee is expected to experience dangerously hot weather through at least July 2, according to the National Weather Service’s seven-day forecast. After a weekend of potential showers and thunderstorms June 27-28, hot temperatures will settle over the region due to a “heat dome” moving across the eastern United States.
