An Ohio driver was arrested Saturday afternoon after Florida Highway Patrol clocked his vehicle traveling at 101 mph on Interstate 75 in Sumter County.
Daniel L. Roweton, 42, of Christiansburg, Ohio, was driving northbound on I-75 near Mile Marker 327 in Wildwood when a trooper spotted his silver vehicle weaving through traffic at a high rate of speed.
The trooper estimated the vehicle’s speed at approximately 100 mph in a posted 70 mph zone before activating a radar unit, which confirmed the speed at 101 mph.
During a traffic stop, Roweton presented an Ohio driver’s license. A routine background check revealed his Ohio license was suspended, and he had an active warrant out of Polk County for driving with a suspended license…
