Lancaster County man neglected bleeding dog for 7 weeks before helping: district attorney

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — An East Lampeter Township man is facing a pair of animal cruelty-related charges after reportedly leaving a bleeding dog in her own blood for seven weeks before seeking help, according to the district attorney’s office.

Raymond Petersheim, 40, of the 2500 block of Siegrist Road, left a spaniel-type dog named Princess lying in her own bodily fluids before taking her to a veterinary hospital on Feb. 19, the district attorney’s office announced.

Staff at the vet hospital found Princess to be emaciated, weak, and unable to stand without help. She was said to be bleeding with a discharge of fluids and had not been eating…
