LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Hundreds of people lined the streets of downtown Lexington on Saturday to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, taking part in a Fourth of July festival and the annual parade.
Visitors traveled from across the region to attend. Ashley Carter and her daughter Addison came from Rockcastle County to mark the occasion.
“This is actually our first year up here, so we wanted to try something different for the holiday, so we came up here for the day,” Carter said. “She might see the next 50, but I won’t.”
