Breakthrough research in Alzheimer’s may restore sleep, UK doctors say

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A new research angle into Alzheimer’s could become a tool for early detection and slowing down progress of the disease, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.

A University of Kentucky research team reportedly found that microglia, which are immune cells in the brain, primarily drive sleep loss, according to the Herald-Leader.
