A popular Lexington hibachi and sushi restaurant that has been closed for more than a year and a half is finally coming back.
Miyako Sushi & Grill at 2547 Richmond Road was closed after a fire in February 2025 damaged the kitchen. Now, the restaurant is repaired and remodeled, with all new interiors as well as a new kitchen, and some new items coming to the menu. The remodeling was delayed by a long wait for payment from the insurance company, owner Andy Chi said.
Chi is hoping for a soft opening on Saturday, Oct. 3, with a grand opening Oct. 9, assuming that work on the parking lot is completed in time. Their website, miyakogrill.com, will be updated with details.
