Lexington woman accused of abandoning 15 cats in unsanitary home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control has charged a cat owner in an animal abandonment case.

Animal control officers said Oct. 2 that they removed 15 cats from a home on Peachtree Drive.

Investigators said they were contacted by the property owner after Sandra Weck moved out of the residence and allegedly left behind four adult cats and three kittens in unsanitary conditions without access to water.

Weck was charged with local animal cruelty violations and surrendered the remaining cats in her care, according to officials.
