“Joe Shiesty” wins Woodford Stakes, for local trainer, Eric Foster

LEXINGTON, KY. (WFIE) – The Keeneland Race Course fall meet is ongoing, and on Saturday, one local trainer, had a big day! Utica, Kentucky-based trainer, Eric Foster, trains 5-year old gelding, “Joe Shiesty”, who has run at Ellis Park, a few times, and trains their quite often.

Well, the turf sprint specialist, won the Grade II Woodford Stakes at Keeneland, on Saturday afternoon! This race, was a Breeders’ Cup “win and you’re in” qualifying race, so this means, that Foster, his wife, and their ownership group, will likely be entering “Joe Shiesty”, in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, at the end of this month.

It’s a dream come true, for the Owensboro native and his 16-acre, local barn!…
