Southside High School students earned a record-setting number of Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy honors this year, with 63 students recognized for demonstrating proficiency in English and at least one additional language.
The school also led the state in language diversity, with students certified in 17 languages other than English, the most represented by any school in Arkansas this year. Three students earned trilingual recognition.
The Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy recognizes students in grades 9-12 who demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening in another language in addition to English.
