Meth Smuggling Charges Filed Against Two LAX Contract Workers

LOS ANGELES – Methamphetamine is at the center of a federal case involving two contract workers at Los Angeles International Airport, who prosecutors say were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute the drug.Alejandro Medina Beltran, 23, of Compton, and Luis Armando Valenzuela, 29, of Inglewood, are scheduled to make their initial appearance in federal court Thursday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life.The DEA said its LAX Task Force is investigating and confirmed the two contract employees are suspected of smuggling drugs, but authorities have not released additional details about the alleged conduct.”The DEA Los Angeles Field Division can confirm that personnel from the DEA Los Angeles Field Division’s LAX Task Force team are conducting an investigation involving two contract employees working out of Los Angeles International Airport,” DEA Public Affairs Specialist Rose Valle-Lopez said in an emailed statement. “The contract employees are suspected of smuggling drugs.”Beltran and Valenzuela are scheduled to appear in Courtroom…..
