MADISON — As the new Dane County jail moves closer to completion, community advocates are raising concerns that the aging jail in the City-County Building will remain open even after the new facility is finished.
The pushback comes after Dane County Sheriff Kalvin Barrett said the county will not be able to fully close the old jail because the new facility will not have enough capacity to meet the county’s needs.
