Shelby County D.A. Steve Mulroy faces criticism over comments on police training in op-ed

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy is facing criticism after comments he made about police use-of-force training in an opinion piece published by USA Today.

Mulroy wrote the op-ed after attending a police training course focused on use of force. In the piece, Mulroy wrote, “One thing I learned was a D.A. can’t prevent police killings if the police are trained to kill.”
