MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A group of Memphis teenagers is proving that sometimes the best way to bring people together is to simply roll together.
The members of 901SK8.Youth are all between the ages of 15 and 16, but they have a big goal: using roller skating to create a positive space for younger kids in the community.
The group started in late 2022 as a group of friends who shared a love for skating. Since then, they’ve grown into a youth-led movement focused on bringing people together through skating, community events and positive experiences.
“We’re trying to bring the community together and get the community into the skating rink, and accomplish big things” said founder Jabarious Bruce. “We’re growing right now, and we’re starting a JV group for the younger kids, 13 and under.”…
