MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A South Memphis man is calling for better law enforcement training after armed highway patrol officers came to his house in search of stolen lawn mowers he did not have.
David Brannan said he was taken by surprise Monday afternoon when his doorbell camera picked up armed Tennessee Highway Patrol officers outside his house.
According to Brannan, the officers had a search warrant and told him they were looking for multiple stolen lawn mowers and had gotten a device ping that the property could be in the area.
Brannan said he was surprised that roughly 25 armed troopers were there for the search, but he complied.
