A Baton Rouge man stands accused of killing his wife and then transporting her body through multiple states with it positioned in the passenger seat of his vehicle. Police in Tennessee stopped Tyronne Brazille, 50, during what began as a routine traffic enforcement action in downtown Memphis. Officers discovered the body of his wife, Lanessa Bradford, also 50, and took him into custody on the spot.

The Stop That Ended the Journey

Authorities say Brazille had already crossed state lines with Bradford’s body after an alleged argument at a park in Baton Rouge. The traffic violation in Memphis brought the drive to an abrupt halt. Officers immediately recognized that Bradford was deceased and had suffered a gunshot wound.

Brazille was booked locally as a fugitive from Louisiana. Court records indicate he is scheduled to appear before a judge in Memphis on Monday, after which extradition proceedings are expected to return him to his home state to face a murder charge.

Relationship Marked by Tension and Threats

Longtime acquaintances described the couple as having struggled with marital difficulties for years.
