MEMPHIS, Tenn. – FOX13 obtained dash camera video from inside the cars of two Arkansas State Police (ASP) troopers who joined the pursuit of a stolen ambulance earlier this month. One trooper’s video starts when he’s on the interstate and gets the call across the radio. He immediately meets the other officers in West Memphis, where the ambulance was traveling through several neighborhoods. At one point, you hear the trooper say, “Notify supervisors, I’m not sure if they’re gonna want me to try to TVI this.” That trooper continues to follow close behind the ambulance, at one point driving over spike strips police put down in an attempt to stop the ambulance. Despite the attempt, the driver of the ambulance keeps going, speeding up.RELATED: Woman steals ambulance in Memphis, drives it to Arkansas, officials sayThe driver eventually turns into the parking lot at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Crittenden, where the first trooper stops in front of the ambulance. The second trooper pulls up behind. Moments later, officers from several agencies ask the driver to get out with her hands up. They peacefully take 63-year-old Vanessa Bowen into custody.
