MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — John Macrone is a 95-year-old Korean War veteran who has spent his life giving back. After the military, he became a toy engineer and is the mastermind behind ‘Trains for Kids by Isabelle’ at Banner Children’s Hospital at Desert in Mesa.
For the last two decades John has designed, built and maintained the train garden which spans 3,000 square feet.
John is getting ready to step away from his duties, but before the conductor disembarks one last time, his friend Greg Davis nominated him for a visit from Community Anchor Susan Casper and the Arizona’s Family Surprise Squad.
