Too much poop to play at this Miami-Dade beach, says water advisory

You can still go swimming Sunday at Key Biscayne’s Crandon Park North beach. But, the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County advises against it because of bacteria that comes from what humans usually leave in the toilet.

After Saturday water testing, “DOH-Miami-Dade advises against any water-related activities at this location due to an increased risk of illness in swimmers,” the department said. “Sampling conducted during regular water quality monitoring showed that the level of bacteria exceeds the level established by state guidelines.”
