Mario Cristobal may have a trick up his sleeve to flip 5-star DJ Jacobs to Miami

There aren’t many days that go by where we aren’t thinking about what Mario Cristobal’s next move in recruiting is going to be. The Miami Hurricanes are starting to gear up for the 2028 class and the staff is making moves to ensure that the next recruiting cycle is as fruitful as the current one.

Most fans believe that Cristobal isn’t done with the 2027 class yet, even after last week’s commitment of 4-star wide receiver Eli Woodard. There are a still a few major flip targets on the board and one that both fans and recruiting insiders are keeping an eye on is five-star edge rusher DJ Jacobs.

Jacobs has been committed to Ohio State since late December and in recent weeks it has appeared as if he solidified that pledge to the Buckeyes. But that hasn’t stopped the speculation about Jacobs eventually ending up in Miami’s class and if Cristobal’s pursuit of him will continue into the season.
