Billionaires are pouring money into elections.
Ken Griffin of Miami is literally buying Florida politicians. He is even funding Susan Collins in Maine. Elon Musk has said that he will spend upwards of $100 million on the midterms.
We are seeing prices for gas and groceries go up because of all the largesse bestowed upon the billionaires. Now our healthcare costs are going up, too. Medicare supplemental insurance premiums are going up, and Medicare drug copays are going up. Medicare dual eligibles will see their out-of-pocket costs go up. And Medicaid is on life support when the $1 trillion in cuts hit after the midterm elections.
Billionaires are out in force in this midterm election to protect their billions. Our cue to vote should be simple: If the billionaires are supporting it, we should vote against it. If you see TV commercials (they are expensive), that is a sure sign that some wealthy donor is supporting that candidate. It should be a sure warning sign not to vote for that candidate…
