Miami-Dade man accused of swiping $33K in cash, jewelry, TVs from senior’s home

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A Miami Gardens man is facing charges after investigators said he allegedly broke into a Miami-Dade senior’s home and stole about $33,000 in cash, along with televisions and jewelry.

According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Antonio Nieves was arrested Monday after investigators linked him to a burglary that occurred on June 30 at a home near the 4200 block of Northwest 32nd Street in the county’s Brownsville area.

Deputies said the 78-year-old victim reported that someone forced open her rear kitchen door, causing about $300 in damage, before the home was “ransacked.”…
