Miami Billionaire Drops $100 Million On Baptist Health

Miami-based Baptist Health just landed a nine-figure boost: a record $100 million gift from billionaire philanthropist Dr. Herbert Wertheim, announced Wednesday. According to the South Florida Business Journal, the $100,000,000 donation from Wertheim is the largest private gift Baptist Health has received and includes a naming agreement for a major institute within the system. Florida International University and Baptist Health have announced joint residency and fellowship initiatives and are developing an academic medical center on FIU’s campus in partnership with the system, according to FIU.
