Nothing can replace drive-in movies. It’s a unique experience that is, regrettably, becoming harder and harder to find. There are only a handful remaining in Minnesota, and they’re a haul if you live in the Twin Cities.
The Mall of America is bringing something akin to that nostalgic experience to Bloomington with its new Movies at the Star series, which will have movies playing on an outdoor screen once a month through October.
The series, starting with “Top Gun: Maverick” on Aug. 22, takes place in the shopping center’s North Lot. There, you can watch the movie from your car or spread out on the lawn in front of the screen.
