COMMIT: Minnesota lands Villanova transfer wing Malachi Palmer

Minnesota seems to have added their final scholarship/NIL transfer piece for the 2026-27 roster moments ago with the addition of Villanova transfer Malachi Palmer. Who is Palmer? A 6’6 210 pound two year veteran who started his career at Maryland before transferring to Villanova and now the Gophers.

Palmer played in 33 games this season starting four in March and playing about 18-19 minutes a game. He scored 4.6 points a game taking 3-4 shots a game making 46.6 percent of those attempts. Malachi has primarily been a three point shooter taking 2.4 threes a contest his season and making 36 percent of those attempts. Malachi made 16 of 21 foul shots this season and had 20 assists against 17 turnovers. Totaled 55 fouls in his 604 minutes on the floor this year.

Palmer provided 11 points highlighted by three threes in Villanova’s first round NCAA Tournament game against Utah State. Made his first career start at DePaul and scored 10 points to go with five rebounds. Had a career-high 15 points on five of seven shooting from the field in a 72-60 win over Seton Hall on February 4th…
