Wisconsin loses 4-star LB recruiting battle to Minnesota in perplexing decision

The Wisconsin Badgers were one of the finalists for 4-star linebacker Tate Wallace. The No. 2 player in the state of Iowa chose the Minnesota Golden Gophers over Wisconsin, Arizona State, and even Iowa State. Minnesota lands its third 4-star commit and is now passing Wisconsin in the recruiting rankings for 2027.

Wallace has over 15 offers, but ultimately zeroed in on Minnesota, scheduling a visit at the end of May, but deciding that’s where he wanted to play next season before it took place. This is a perplexing decision for Wallace, but in the recruiting world, you never fully know what will happen and which recruits will land well.
