MINNEAPOLIS — A suspect pleads guilty in the Boom Island Park mass shooting that left a woman dead in June 2025.
Marquez Demar Hill-Turnipseed pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges stemming from a drive-by shooting. He entered the plea petition on Friday, May 8, 2026.
As previously reported, police responded to a shooting at Boom Island Park on June 1, 2025. Upon arrival, police said they found multiple gunshot victims, including a woman, later identified as Katraya Shapryia Whiting, who was shot while inside the vehicle near the park entrance.
