ADOC officials make multiple arrests statewide on contraband, drug charges

FOLEY, Ala. (WALA) – Criminal and narcotics investigations by the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) resulted in multiple arrests statewide this week, including a woman arrested in Foley on multiple warrants.

ADOC’s Law Enforcement Services Division (LESD) and the Daphne Task Force served warrants on Rachel White in Foley today, authorities said. She was taken to the Bullock County Jail and charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, conspiracy to commit a controlled-substance crime and criminal solicitation to commit a controlled-substance crime.

Also today, a former ADOC employee was arrested at the St. Clair Correctional Facility. Authorities said Elizabeth Cox, a drug treatment counselor, had been providing food to an inmate for resale purposes. Officials said she resigned her ADOC position and cooperated with investigators.

Cox was taken to the St. Clair County Jail and charged with use of office for personal gain, third-degree promoting prison contraband, second-degree marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia…
