The Modesto Library won’t reopen in October as anticipated, as work continues on the major renovation project. There’s no new estimate on when the project will be finished.
The county library system said on its website that the timeline to open the I Street building is under review due to unforeseen circumstances. The facility was closed Nov. 30, 2024, to begin work on the $18 million project, including long-awaited renovations, asbestos removal and cosmetic improvements.
