A person pushing a shopping cart in the darkened lanes of Interstate 5 was struck and killed early Thursday near French Camp Road by a hit-and-run driver, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The pedestrian “sustained obvious signs of fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased” following the 4:35 a.m. collision in the northbound lanes, the CHP’s Stockton office said.
It appears that after the person was struck, other drivers may have also run into the victim, authorities said…
