STOCKTON, Calif. — Police have released more details were shared in the fatal shooting of an ax-wielding suspect in Stockton.
Stockton police said officers were called around 7 a.m. Monday to the 2000 block of Nevada Street for a report of a suspicious man, later identified as 25-year-old Moises Flores-Andrade, armed with an axe who was smashing the front door of a home.
Police said the man was trying to get into the home and caused “substantial damage” to the front door with the axe. Officers also learned the man might be heading to another home where they said additional violence was believed possible.
Officers learned Flores-Andrade was staying at a nearby home along the 1200 block of Deep Cliff Way, and around 7:30 a.m., two officers went to the home. Police said officers tried to contact Flores-Andrade at the front door when the garage door partially opened and officers saw him inside…
