MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office announced that a South Carolina man has been charged with raping a McDowell County child.
Deputies said that 47-year-old Samuel Bradshaw of Conway, S.C. was charged with felony statutory rape of a child 15 years of age or younger and felony indecent liberties with a child. He was initially denied bond.
On May 11, deputies reported that they were called to assist the Old Fort Police Department in locating a runaway juvenile. Once the girl was found, information shared during the investigation alleged that Bradshaw had engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with her approximately one week before she left home. At that time, Bradshaw was staying at the home with the victim and other family members.
An investigation confirmed the allegation and charges against Bradshaw were filed, according to deputies. Bradshaw was found and arrested in Conway and then extradited to the McDowell County Detention Center…
