SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Surfside Beach officials are trying to recover $545,000 after the town said a cybersecurity crime redirected money intended for a contractor into a fraudulent account.
The issue was discussed during a Monday night council meeting, where town leaders said Surfside Beach attempted to make a payment to a contractor, but the funds were diverted.
