HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The superintendent’s budget proposal, parental leave, and student screen time were all topics of conversation on Wednesday at an Horry County Schools Board of Education retreat.
Superintendent Clifford Jones presented his budget proposal for the 2026-2027 school year, with a full comprehensive budget said to be given at Monday night’s board work session. It highlighted a few major revenue changes, including the reduction of 45 budgets in the district office. This included reductions across the finance, human resources, academics, policy/legal/communications, operations, student services, and superintendent departments.
