MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Myrtle Beach leaders are considering a rule change that would limit capacity to 150 people in future bars and nightclubs along its popular Ocean Boulevard district.
The city’s planning commission will be the first to address the issue, slated to be discussed on Tuesday at its regular meeting.
If approved, the amended would create an overlay zone “limiting land use of nightclubs, bars and other drinking places with occupancy exceeding 150 persons” while allowing existing licensed properties to continue as non-conforming uses.
