Rising prices drive up costs for St. James Elementary replacement school

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Rising oil prices on top of material costs are driving up construction costs for the St. James Elementary replacement school, with Phase 3 of the project now about $4 million more than expected.

“Oil prices are beginning to impact not only products that are made from oil, but are also affecting the cost for delivery of goods through the diesel and gas prices,” said Joe Burch, executive director of capital projects for Horry County Schools.
