Brookfield police arrested a 55-year-old Brookfield man on Aug. 27 for domestic battery.
Around 9:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 9000 block of 26th Avenue on a report of domestic battery. Dispatchers said the complainant had said her boyfriend had been drinking and had hit her. She told dispatchers he was in the living room and she had locked herself in the bedroom before he busted the door down.
After arriving at the residence, officers made contact with the man in the front of the home and asked him to explain what had happened. The man said he had been watching TV when his girlfriend became upset with him and “demanded” that he change the channel. The man said they went on to argue before his girlfriend left the living room and went to the bedroom. He said the incident did not escalate physically but that he had wanted to “place hands” on his girlfriend…
