It’s Spot, a four-legged robotic dog, deployed by Suffolk, one of the largest contractors operating in South Florida. Spot is transforming how complex construction projects are documented, monitored and ultimately delivered. On sites across South Florida, including at the Ritz Carlton Residences in Naples and Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers, and beyond, Spot climbs stairs, navigates obstacles and captures hard to spot details along the way.
Built by Boston Dynamics, equipped with a 360-degree camera and advanced sensing technology, Spot’s primary job is deceptively simple: walk the site. But what it captures during those walks is reshaping the entire construction workflow…
