Couple rescues loose horses on Murfreesboro Road

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two horses are safe and back with their owners after a couple passing by saw them running down Murfreesboro Road in rush hour traffic Friday morning.

John Bautz and his wife Janis were on their way to the gym when they saw the horses loose. Janis was taking video on her phone as her husband pulled over. John was able to stop the horses by giving them a command and making eye contact to calm them down.

He corralled them and made a harness from a garden hose in the back of another passerby’s truck. He tied them up while the Williamson County Sheriff arrived.

John is a former horse trainer from Illinois. He and his wife now have a dog breeding business in Arrington…
