NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Tennessee death row inmate has at least one more year to live after the state “botched” his execution Thursday morning.

Tony Carruthers was scheduled to die by lethal injection on Thursday morning at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville, Tennessee.

The execution was originally slated for 10 a.m., but it was delayed as legal teams waited for the U.S. Supreme Court to make a decision on an emergency stay request from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)…
