Authorities searching for man accused of stealing $6K worth of metal in Berry Hill

BERRY HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Berry Hill Police Department is trying to find someone who reportedly stole thousands of dollars’ worth of metal earlier this week.

The incident, caught on camera, happened shortly before 4 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at a company that fixes elevators on Melrose Avenue. Officials said the video shows an older model of a red Ford F-150 pickup truck with a dark trim on the bottom pulling a black trailer into an unsecured parking lot in the rear of the Berry Hill business park.

“There are several companies inside of here, but the back area over here, to the left where the truck’s pulling into, is a couple [Conex boxes], and they have storage places back there for other things, but they get a lot of shipments just dropped off right there,” BHPD Sgt. Tony Russo explained. “It’s not a secure parking lot. As you can see, other people park back there.”

In the video, you can see one individual pulling up to a stack of trash dumpsters and storage containers, but he ignored all of that and backed right up to a sealed crate.
