Mother charged after allegedly attacking officer during daughters’ arrests following large fight in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Nashville woman is facing multiple charges for allegedly trying to fight with officers to prevent them from arresting her daughters in the Napier area on Thursday.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to Charles E. Davis Blvd. around 4:30 p.m, where a large fight was occurring. The officers encountered 20 to 30 people involved in fighting at the scene, and immediately attempted to diffuse the situation.

The affidavit states that a teenage girl interfered with officers’ attempts to break up a fight involving her older sister and was promptly arrested. Their mother, 41-year-old Shametrice Ezell, then jumped in and allegedly began pulling on the officer’s arms to prevent him from arresting her daughter, according to the report…
