NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Motorists will be diverted off Interstate 610 in New Orleans this weekend to allow crews to safely repave and repair portions of the roadway, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced Wednesday (May 29).
Partial nighttime closures will be imposed on alternating lanes earlier this week, affecting I-610 traffic in both directions between the 17th Street Canal to Interstate 10 near Franklin Avenue, the DOTD said.
The full closure for both directions — including ramps — is scheduled to start Friday night at 11 p.m. and run through 5 a.m. on Monday, June 1, officials said. Motorists will be detoured to utilize I-10 eastbound and westbound as the primary alternate routes…
