New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board Executive Director Randy Hayman said no employees have been disciplined so far after human error worsened flooding during a storm on July 11.
Hayman told a joint City Council committee July 22 the agency was still investigating the incident and would decide whether to discipline anyone once the investigation was complete, which he estimated would be in the next week and a half.
According to S&WB officials, the pumping and power plant operator at the DPS 7 pumping station, which covers parts of Mid-City and Lakeview, made a mistake with the vacuum system that caused all three pumps to go offline for 45 minutes…
