NOPD ramping up school zone enforcement and more

If you’ve been frustrated about speeders in local school zones and the use of those illegal four-wheelers and dirt bikes on city roads, NOPD Chief Anne Kirkpatrick says the department is going to start cracking down on these issues.

Kirkpatrick says school zone enforcement began as of Monday, August 3rd. The effort is in full gear as schools around New Orleans are now back in session and safety is of the utmost importance. “We are really making sure that our kids and our community is safe. So, slow it down and be mindful of everybody and be aware,” noted the NOPD Chief. Kirkpatrick also emphasized that the fines for those school zone speeding tickets can be quite expensive…
